Coupon World?!?
For the past month I've been stuck in the wonderful world of COUPONS! Jared couldn't stop laughing when I pulled out a folder full of them. I've always been one to look for deals and feel a sense of satisfaction when I get something for cheap. Well, now that I've been introduced to the coupon world cheap is no longer good enough. I'm constantly looking for FREE! It makes my entire day when I can walk out of a store with free stuff. I don't care what it is or if it's only one item, free is free and that's great with me! So if any of you only read the Sunday Paper and throw the ads/coupons away, save them for me, the more the merrier. Or better yet, check out the coupon blog links on my page and you'll be sure to use those ads yourselves. Happy Couponing everyone!

Wii Anonymous

Hello, my name is Lesley and I'm addicted to Wii. The beginning of it all was a couple of months ago when we started heading out to Hau'ula every Tuesday night to take Hawaiian language classes from Jared's older sister Leone. After class we have dinner at Leone's house. One night we show up and everyone's standing in front of their big screen tv with white remotes in their hand jumping around. For me, it was all down hill from there. We played bowling, tennis, olympics, and the worst for me is MarioKart. The Saaga's have four remotes and six kids, aunties, uncles, mama, papa, and cousins so we challenge in MarioKart and bottom two are out so everyone can rotate in. Of course I'm usually out because everyone in that house is a CAMPER on that game (especially you Ui).
Somedays I'll be day dreaming and Jared will look at me and say, "what are you thinking about?" To which I reply, "Uh, nothing!?!" His reply " Oh my gosh, you're thinking about playing MarioKart again aren't you?" With my face looking like I just got caught with my hand in the cookie jar I reply "Uh, no...well maybe...no not really!?!" Which is why we've been finding ourselves heading out to the Saaga house around 3 times a week to play Wii, sometimes we sleep over so we can play at night and in the morning when we wake up.
I asked Jared to get a Wii for Christmas but he said No because we'd never get any work done:( Which is soooo true.
I know it's really bad because when I'm driving my car back to town all I can see infront of me are MarioKart tracks and all I hear is beep beep beep beep beep...which is a warning that people are attacking me from behind, shooting turtle shells and rockets and stars my way.
Thanks for listening, see you all next week

Holidays
Okay, I know it's been a while since I last blogged and people are hounding me about our page so here's our excuse.....I was toooooooo lazy! lol. What can I say, it was the holidays. From the week of Thanksgiving we were in holiday mode until, well, now.
It was the usual getting ready for Christmas. Buying gifts, baking goodies for our friends, blowing up kitchens! That's right, my wonderful husband tried to blow up my kitchen.
Early on a Saturday morning Jared went to play in a Christmas bowl and I started to bake brownies for our friends at church. When the brownies were done I took them out of the oven and placed them on the stove to cool off. I then started wrapping gifts. Jared comes home hungry and puts on some hot water to eat cup of noodles. About 3 minutes later I hear a huge explosion in the kitchen (which scares the life out of me). Jared and I both run to the kitchen. When the smoke clears we see brownies and glass everywhere.
Apparently Jared turned on the wrong burner and heated up the glass pan that the brownies were in instead of heating up the kettle for his hot water. The worse part is he tried to save the other pan of brownies by dusting it off and picking out pieces of glass. My apologies for those of you that got our "special" brownies this year with extra "special" ingredients. Just kidding, we dumped both pans of brownies and those of you who got cookies instead can thank Jared for them.

Failure to rise
Saturday started off to be a pretty relaxing day, which is unusual. Chapel clean up and tv. It was so relaxing I got bored and decided to make something good to eat...Butter rolls:p Of course I called the Butter Roll Master for her recipe and she gave me step by step instructions (which is what I need). So I mix all the ingredients and wait for the dough to rise. And I wait. And I wait. And I wait. 2 hours later I call my butter roll master and explain my dilemma. She gives me a few solutions, I do it and head to the beach cause we're tired of waiting. We're back from the beach 4 hours later and still...no rising going on. 2nd call to butter roll master takes place and then she tells me..."Oh, did you let the milk cool after warming it up?" Uh, NO! It wasn't in my step by step instructions!!!
So my butter roll master, who I won't name because I don't want to embarass her...UILANI KEO
... said "Sorry, I forgot to tell you that if the water is too warm it'll kill the yeast." This is my warning to all of you...get a better butter roll master that includes All steps in her instructions. J/K. Next time we'll just have Ui make it herself so it comes out Perfect as usual!

Roo News
G'day mates!
So I'm sitting at the Sydney Airport in the lounge waiting for our flight to HNL to start boarding and decided this would be a great time to blog. Can I just say that Air New Zealand has the best lounge ever! Free food and any kind of drinks, tons of space and couchs, a business center, showers, a family room, and free internet access. Okay enough free advertising, back to my blog. First off i'm finding it hard to type on the count of a broken finger I managed to break while surfing the day before we left for Australia...but that's a story for another blog.
Anyway our trip was great. It was a bit frosty (cold), we ate heaps of lollies (lots of candy/junks), and we got used to driving on the wrong side of the road (that's a good thing). We went to the Gold Coast to visit family. It's kind of like a mini Waikiki and the sand was so fine it felt like flour. Then we went to Brisbane to visit more family and ended up on the Sunshine Coast.
Here are the differences I've noticed between Australia and Hawaii.
-aussies drive on the wrong side of the road
-it's colder
-they have funny accents
-the cars are heaps smaller
-they have bats...in their yards!
-we say yeah, they say ay
-they don't have drinks with ice (that killed me)
-it's expensive
-you don't tip (we loved it)
-service isn't that good (probably because they don't get tips)
It was a great trip and we'd love to come back again soon. Sorry we don't have pictures but we were lazy, maybe next trip!

The King has left the building
It's a sad day to find out that one of our favorite comedians has passed away this Saturday. Bernie Mac died at the age of 50 from pnemonia. I realize that most of you on my blog list will only know him from "The Bernie Mac Show," if you know him at all, but he was also one of "The Original Kings of Comedy." Most of his stuff was rated R, which is why we haven't seen his new material in a while but can I just say he was HILARIOUS! Always spoke his mind and didn't care what other people thought. He said what everyone was thinking but was too scared to say themselves. Anyway, I think I'm gonna rent his DVD and laugh my muli off. So long to the king!
